The Boeing 737-300 is a narrow-body airliner and a variant of the 737 Classic series; the series of 737 aircraft that succeeded the classic 737-100/200 series. The Boeing 737-300 is longer then the -200 and is the first 737 design to use CFM turbofan engines. Within the Classic series, the -300 is in the middle in terms of length & seating capacity being shorter then the -400 but larger then the -500. The Boeing 737-300 was widely used on short to medium routes with moderate to heavy demand. It is no longer in production and few examples are still used today. It is succeeded by the Boeing 737-700 in the Next-Generation or NG series of 737 aircraft.
