The Mitsubishi (formerly Bombardier & Canadair) CRJ-200(ER/LR) is the second variant of the 'CRJ' family of regional aircraft. Identical in size to the CRJ-100, the CRJ-200 benefited from upgraded engines. The base sub-variant is the 'ER' which stands for 'Extended Range' while the other sub-variant is 'LR' meaning 'Long/Longer Range' which offers even greater range allowing the aircraft to fly longer routes. The CRJ-200(ER/LR) was much more popular then it's predecessor, the CRJ-100(ER/LR) with many more examples built and the most built of all CRJ variants however it's limited size and fuel economy had it fall out of favour for larger variants like the CRJ-700 & CRJ-900.
